The large kitchen boasts modern ‘country-style’ units with sink, stainless steel range-style cooker, extractor, 2 fridges, kettle, microwave, breadmaker, coffee-maker, dishwasher and washing machine, all blending comfortably with the original beams and features of the room. (There is also drinks cooler in the lounge, to chill your white wine to perfection, plus a full size freezer - no-one wants to have to shop every day when they are on holiday!) A corner notice-board and brochure rack highlight local and forthcoming attractions, where appropriate. The cooker runs on bottled gas and there should always be a full spare available on a second "dolly" under the worktop. (Please remember to let the Concièrge know if you have had to change the gas bottle during your stay, so that she can obtain a refill for the next guests.) This room is currently being redecorated in soft grey and looks rather different to the current picture, which we will update.
A Welcome Pack will be awaiting you with bread, butter, cheese, local wine etc to tide you over till you can get to the shops. In addition, there may well be a few of our own basic food items already in the house, particularly herbs, tinned or dry goods. We would simply ask that you please replace anything you use or finish, ready for the next family or for our return. As the holiday is self-catering, you will of course be expected to purchase the majority of items you require for your own needs, including replacements for toilet/kitchen rolls and washing/dishwasher powder.
You will find plenty of plates, bowls, cups and glasses, plastic items for use ‘poolside’, and lots of cupboard space for food storage. There is an large pine table in the kitchen/breakfast room, but you will probably find yourself drawn outside to enjoy breakfast (and lunch and tea and dinner!) in the sunshine and fresh air.
